Dustin Lewis is an actor and teacher whose work spans stage, film, and television, shaped by more than three decades of life in the arts. Whether performing or teaching, his focus is the same: creating work that feels honest, grounded, and human—work that invites an audience to stop watching the acting and fall fully into the story.
Originally from central Illinois, Dustin’s artistic journey began early and has unfolded across the country, from regional theatre to major film and television productions. Over the years, he has built a career defined by both range and longevity, appearing in projects for Netflix, Hulu, ABC, FX, NBC, and Marvel Studios, including Captain America: Brave New World (opposite Harrison Ford), Cobra Kai, Dopesick, Atlanta, Ozark, The Wonder Years, and Sleepy Hollow, among many others.
He is a proud member of SAG-AFTRA.
Staying in the arts for decades has required resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to live inside uncertainty. Like many artists, Dustin has balanced side jobs, frequent goodbyes, and constant reinvention—learning how to be tough enough to endure while remaining vulnerable enough to do meaningful work. It is not an easy life, but it is one that continues to bring him deep joy and purpose.
Alongside his acting career, Dustin is a Meisner-based acting teacher and the founder of Open Frame Studios, a creative collective dedicated to exploration, craft, and community. Open Frame Studios is being built from the ground up in Amsterdam, where it will open for the first time as a home for artists to gather, train, and create together. More than an acting studio, Open Frame is a space where artists are invited to show up fully—as they are—and engage in meaningful, process-driven work. Rooted in care, accountability, and respect for the individual artist, Dustin’s teaching prioritizes growth over ego and curiosity over judgment. Actors consistently describe his rooms as honest, supportive, and deeply connected.
Dustin is particularly passionate about pushing back against the loss of presence in modern actor training. In an age of constant distraction, he believes that true listening, eye contact, and human connection are not optional skills, but the foundation of the craft. His work challenges actors to reconnect—to themselves, to their scene partners, and to the moment—while holding them accountable to the rigor the work demands.
Dustin is entering a new chapter as he prepares to relocate to Amsterdam and launch Open Frame Studios. After years focused heavily on on-camera work, he is excited to return to the stage while continuing to teach, mentor, and build artistic community. Approaching this transition with openness and curiosity, he remains guided by collaboration, challenge, and a deep trust in where the work—and the journey—might lead next.
